Podiatrists diagnose and treat diseases, injuries and defects of the foot and ankle. They are expert surgeons utilizing the latest Laparoscopic techniques. Common office care includes orthotics, wound care, and shock wave therapy for tendinitis. Lacerations, sprains, or other foot trauma can also be handled at Old Hook Medical. In cases of bunions or hammertoe we will evaluate the need for surgery and can recommend treatment with surgical and non-surgical options.
Patients with diabetes must be particularly careful to keep their feet in good shape and often need help with toenail clipping. Assessment for diabetic neuropathy or non-healing wounds must be performed regularly.
Dr. Goldstein is the Associate Director of the Center for Advanced Wound Care at Hackensack University Medical Center.
